Make Room for More

Tom Atchison   -

‘Tis the season for Corn Mazes!  As we drove by one last week, my granddaughter begged Cathy and me to stop.  Who doesn’t love the fun and excitement of trying to find the way through!  Avoiding dead ends or divergent trails, the energizing challenge is to find the way through, even as we lose a sense of direction and perspective.  No one wants to be trapped in the middle.  However, when all we see is what is directly in front of us, we get disoriented.

Sometimes I think this happens in ministry.  As we roll out “Make Room for More” with our service in the gym this weekend it can feel like we are caught in a maze.  However, just like with a corn maze, when we look from the top or get an aerial overview, we can better see where we need to go and why.

The big picture we need to keep in mind is Light for the Future.  We will not be able to move forward towards phase 2 of our 5-year campaign if we don’t make room for more.  This third service in the gym is a necessary step towards our preferred future.  Please pray about and consider worshipping in the gym this Sunday at 10:30.  It is as we serve and sacrifice together, we will find our way forward.

Yours for His Kingdom,

Pastor Tom
