Engage: Showing Jesus’ Heart 

Passage: John 5:1-15 Theme:  Jesus shows a pattern of loving people.  Jesus met with people where they were. Jesus listened, touched, and reached out to them.  He initiated.  He engaged!  In this encounter, Jesus sees a man who is lame (aren’t we all!) and takes the initiative and asks, “do you want to get well?”  With power and authority, Jesus says “get up!”
