Is there such a thing in the twenty-first century? We live in a day of “Cafeteria Christianity” in which people pick and choose what they want from a wide menu of options. This is especially attractive today when there is so much “baggage” with the organized church and the various forms of spirituality propagated by it. However, Jesus said “the gate is small, and the way is narrow that leads to life, and few are those who find it.” (Matt. 7:14) These words in Jesus most famous sermon divide believers and so-called believers as some senselessly drift with the crowd and others turn through the narrow gate and take “road less traveled” (“the narrow way”). This series will take us through the narrow gate and on the narrow road of a true spirituality centered in Jesus that takes sin seriously; that helps us counter the devil and live by the Holy Spirit. Ultimately, it’s a spirituality that is Christ in us (Colossians 1:27).
